If Mr Kerry can use Iraq to reinforce doubts about Mr Bush's competence, then he has a chance of pulling off a ReaganSo, go for the body bag scenario?

Geesh!
I just had lunch. YOU should have given us a barf alert.
I'd say that piece had legs BUT after hearing the interim leader of Iraq speak, I'd day Kerry is FINISHED. He utterly took hot air out of Kerry. He verified and validated EVERYTHING Bush has been saying. He was a re-elect Bush poster. He also commented on the media and how it doesn't reflect Iraq, it's people and the SUCCESS they have been having. FIFTEEN out of EIGHTEEN provinces could SAFELY hold an election TODAY!

IN SEPTEMBER 1980 Ronald Reagan was stuck behind Jimmy Carter in the polls. His campaign was in such a shambles that he had to sack his campaign manager. And he was dogged by the belief that he was unelectable. All that changed with a single debateand Reagan crushed Mr Carter by more than 8m votes. Yes, but Ronald Reagan did not tack hard right and lose the moderate voters.
Kerry has tacked hard left this week, and by debate time he will be down another 10 points as the moderates bail on him.

These reports about how so many candidates have come from behind, to win in the end, always leave one salient fact out of the equation: Every single one of these candidates have been Republicans!!

It is as if the entire MSM--the global MSM, in this case--wants to coach the junior senator. Offer him comfort and sage advice. What they need to offer him is a graceful exit, a way to lose without losing his dignity, or without losing his mind if his latest speeches are a window into the junior senator's highly "nuanced" interior life.

What is it with this compulsion among foreigners to analyse US politics? Do we in the US analyse British, Aussie or Canadian election processes? No. In fact, THEY don't seem to analyse their own politicians or processes much either.

By any reasonable standard, the White House has a mind-boggling record of incompetence in Iraq ?????????

They suggest he hit on mismanagement and incompetence when Kerry has never managed anything and hides his miltary records and won't talk about his senate record.

I've seen 30 second to 5 minute portions of the Dr. Phil show a few times. I find it to be fair for the emotionally disturbed. Normal people can't understand it.

"These reports about how so many candidates have come from behind, to win in the end, always leave one salient fact out of the equation: Every single one of these candidates have been Republicans!!"Only a few weeks ago, Bush was the underdog. His own candidacy has been one of these "come from behind" scenarios the author hopes Kerry, until recently the frontrunner, can now pull off. Note to the Kerry Kampaign: forging military documents to coordinate with attack ads isn't gonna help you.
