The hardest thing for Westerners to understand is not that a war with militant Islam is underway but that the nature of the enemys ultimate goal. That goal is to apply the Islamic law (the Sharia) globally. In U.S. terms, it intends to replace the Constitution with the Quran.
This aspiration is so remote and far-fetched to many non-Muslims, it elicits more guffaws than apprehension. Of course, that used to be the same reaction in Europe, and now its become widely accepted that, in Bernard Lewis words, Europe will be Islamic by the end of the century.
Especially among liberals who whine about civil rights.
Those same civil rights will be used against Americans to give Islam a foothold in America, and then more and more political power just as in Europe.
We can see that happening today as muslims protest against any act they deem "anti-muslim", and the liberals stand by them.
The Koran specifically instructs Muslims to be cooperative and peaceful when they are in the minority in a country. They are to bide their time. It is only when Muslims are a tiny, powerless minority within a society that this is a religion of peace.
Every time we fill up our tanks...we give in ...one more increment...
to Islam in America
imo
Exactly. And isn't it ironic that the new Christians in the end of days will be beheaded for not accepting the "One Religion"? I'm becoming more and more convinced that this world religion talked about in Revelation is Islam. This religion is nothing but a satanic death cult, plain and simple.
This is exactly why there is a Second Amendment and the militia.
I think the Bible actually refers to this end time Religion as another version of Baal. I can't remember where I heard or read that, I'll have to see if a friend of mine (a Baptist Minister) can refresh my memory.
I agree with you about Revelations reference, but I never dreamed it would be Islam.
All the pieces are falling into place and it's quite fascinating to watch... in a sense.
Over my dead body.
Has man changed at all in the past 3000 years? Don't think so. All the multiculti pap does not change the fundamental nature of human beings. The Islamowhackos will push as hard as they and as far as they can. But as a previous poster said, I think 9/11 was a big mistake on their part: we would have sailed merrily along without taking such punative and preventative action as we have done in Afghanistan and Iraq if they had stayed with attacking embassies and other 'soft' targets far away from real US soil. My only reservation with the current Administration is that we don't seem to be pursuing the war vigorously enough.
FYI At the "Chronicles" web site their foreign affairs editor has a critique of the Chicago Tribune's piece on the Muslim Brotherhood. Basically stating that our "elite" cannot fathom Islam being a source of violence and hence leaving the West defenseless.
Allow me to clarify: The EU will be non-existent before then.
BTW, here is an astounding bit of an article I ran across yesterday about admitting Turkey to the EU:
Including Turkey in the EU would prove that Europe is not the exclusive club of a single religion, and it would expose the 'clash of civilizations' as a passing myth of history," Mr Bush said. He heaped praise on Turkey as a model for the cohabitation of democracy and Islam and said America believed that "as a European power, Turkey belongs in the European Union".
Civilizations that believe their highest goal should be convincing hostile foreigners that their homeland isn't the exclusive club of their historic religion (or culture, or people) isn't long for this world. It is this belief system, not Islam, that is the mortal threat.
Sorry. If the choice is between Ballgames, Babes in bikinis, and Beer. Or brutality, burqas, and beheadings.
I'll take the Ballgames, Babes in bikinis, and Beer every time.
