NEW YORK CBS has appointed former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh and former Associated Press chief executive Lou Boccardi to investigate the National Guard documents story that has caught the news network by storm. The two-person review panel will begin its work this week and will have full access and complete cooperation from CBS News and CBS, as well as all of the resources necessary, CBS said in a statement Wednesday. The panel will report its findings to CBS News and CBS. The findings also will be made public, according to the network. Meanwhile, a veteran CBS News producer may be taking the fall for the news network at the center of the "memogate" controversy regarding President Bush's Texas Air National Guard service.

Poor thing, bet there's nothing you can't find to blame on republicans.
Need to research WHO received the Pulitzer Prize since this guy was Chairman of the Board.
In a stunning development the panel has already revealed the discovery of Ms. Mapes' membership in an exclusive and exclusionary private club!
What I accuse the Republicans of is being gutless about going after people like Rather or the Clinton crime family when they break the law.
I want justice! I'm sick and tired of the liberal bias in the media and people connected with the demoncrats and/or the Clinton crime family getting away with stuff that you or I would be hung by the short hairs for.
I VOTE Republican with the hope that they will fight for the justice I want to see, blind justice for all and not according to party affiliation. I just can't REGISTER as a republican any more, at least not until they fight like they mean it. Clinton should have been fired if not sent to jail and so should Rather and company.
Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be surprised if nothing happens.
Democratic insiders are fearful of what the scandal could do to their party.
"You start tying these connections together
I said I'm so scared because I know what's going on with my party," Democratic strategist Pat Caddell told FOX News. "The fact is, [Burkett] did not approach CBS, CBS approached him looking for the documents, which means someone tipped CBS off
which could be a violation of the law."
For a distinguished example of meritorious public service (gag) by a newspaper through the use of its journalistic resources (puke) which, as well as reporting, may include editorials, cartoons, photographs and an on-line presentation, a gold medal.
Awarded to The New York Times (barf) for the work of David Barstow and Lowell Bergman that relentlessly examined death and injury among American workers and exposed employers who break basic safety rules. (Moved by the Board from the Investigative Reporting category, where it was also entered.)
Here's one example for 2004 although Boccardi is not currently listed as a board member.
Get a grip.
How CBS decided on this panel, on these two men is itself a fact that is very pertinant towards evaulating the panel's performance. Not that much time should be so spent, for in the end CBS choose them itself and that alone is such a serious compromise as to make any invetsigation by the panel meaningless as to truth and actual fact.
The fact that CBS choose Thornburg for such de-facto compromised panel, and that Mr. Thornburg accepted it is of itself a significant tell-tale of Mr. Thornburg's integrity in this matter.
Therefore I have been removing the final "h" from his name. For in my view, at least, he will have to re-earn his "burgh" -- for now, by his act of joining this mockery of a panel, he is just a another "burg".

Found via a google of "Thornburgh Rove".
Little background history...
Interesting find.
One might say that Thornburgh probably has no love for Rove.
"It does contradict old Danny's supposed unhappiness of Thornburgh's selection."
This is a great find. I hope that Rush, Sean and Drudge find out about your research.
Get a grip."
Thanks for caring and for your helpful suggestion! I now have a grip.
But...selfish little me, I, I, I still want, want, want the media to lose (or at least admit) its liberal bias, Rather, CBS, and the DNC to be investigated by law enforcement, Rather to lose his job, and, while they're at it, Rather and CBS to appologize to President Bush.
After 8 years of Clinton, pardon me if I'm still a little jaded about seeing justice being done.
