"And Harvard University is at the top of that list"
Throw Bernard Kalb into the mix. His position yesterday was that Mapes putting Burkett into contact with the DNC was unforgiveable, but the important thing everyone was missing was GW's failure to live up to his Guard obligations. I almost threw up.

Would CBS endorse police departments planting evidence on criminal suspects who they believe are guilty for the larger "truth"?OR REPUBLICANS?

Actually, that should get them couple of cozy prison cells with some real "friendly" cellmates.

And there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the elitist left will do everything in their power to close the floodgates of the information age, because they realize their biggest enemy is the truth.Just like any dictator in power the truth must be hidden at any cost...Time for Rather to resign or be fired...
To: wagglebee
Journalism schools don't teach that it's OK to fake a document to smoke out a larger "truth." It's hard to say what today's journalism schools are teaching, and that's a large part of the problem. They are for the most part, shark tanks where up-and-coming truthbenders are nurtured on a steady diet of conservative hating and political correctness. Since they don't have time to learn spelling and grammar, J-school grades don't even write as well as bloggers these days.

Of course he knew they were fakes! The travesty of the situation is the fact that he didn't care, because he assumed we "little people" were too stupid to figure it out and too gullible to care if we did. I think you're on to something.
Maybe they figured on sticking it to the new media by openly perpetrating a fraud and enjoying our helpless anger.

Dan Rather is toast, and not just because conservatives caught him promoting a lie. It's because he continues to defend that lie even today, while being forced to report that "CBS News can't authenticate the documents."
He has lost credibility with the rest of the MSM.
He is too dense and stubborn and partisan to realize that.
He is an embarrassment to the rest of the journalists, most of whom agree with him politically. That's why he is done, and there's nothing, NOTHING, he can do about that now.

What a complete dodge. A fake is a fake. Journalism schools don't teach that it's OK to fake a document to smoke out a larger "truth." (Would CBS endorse police departments planting evidence on criminal suspects who they believe are guilty for the larger "truth"?)Guilty until proven guilty. That's a worse philosophy than most third world nations where you're guilty until proven innocent. Say "good night", Dan.

Maybe they figured on sticking it to the new media by openly perpetrating a fraud and enjoying our helpless anger. They figured that if they could get BJ Klintoon out of Monicagate/impeachment, that everything else would be a piece of cake.

The man has over forty years of journalism experience. I find it hard to believe that he was duped. He got caught fabricating a lie to influence a presidential election and the "Pajama Brigades" caught him redhanded. He may be leaving CBS in a few months, but the damage he caused to the news division and the network is devastating. Their reputation will be tarnished for a long time because of him.

"the elitist left will do everything in their power to close the floodgates of the information age" I don't think they necessarily will. I think they just see it as a more potent manure spreader. When has reality ever bothered them before?

When I went through a number of years ago, I had *maybe* 2 professors who were blatent in their bias. (one was the advertising prof) but the rest were quiet in their bias, including my advisor.
I think the two professors whose class I enjoyed most were publishing, and ethics/law. Law was a challenge, and ethics was fun. (taught by a wonderful prof who was also a christian! and not afraid to mention it!)

Dan Rather is right and we're wrong! After all, Hitler Diaries were 'fake but accurate'! Didn't WWII start on September 1, 1939? I rest my case.

Where is the Hallowed MSM pontificating on this same topic?
