[history]
WASHINGTON - President Bushs political team is orchestrating a vastly larger advertising campaign than thought possible under federal law, taking control of millions in Republican Party funds simply by inserting the phrase our leaders in Congress in selected commercials. ...

It's not a loophole, it is an expression of relative solidarity in the Republican ranks. And quite deliciously legal.

I assume the AP will discover the DNC's 527 connections. Probably be out in a story tomorrow.

or they could target Democratic bastions such as New Jersey and Connecticut. Bush's campaign has checked rates for airtime in New York City and Hartford, Conn., markets that cover much of New Jersey. +Here is the most significant part of the entire article to me. Until now I had not heard that the Bush campaign was officially looking into advertising in New Jersey. If they actually follow through, that means that hard blue states are seriously in play and we are looking at a landslide of proportions unthinkable just a month ago.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm sure at this very moment, they are researching soros' connections. It's just a matter of time before AP jumps on this. *burp*

The article discussed the amount the RNC had available... was there any word on ow much the DNC had left? I'm sure they raised less hard money overall, and I seem to remember they spent a LOT of it between the conventions to prop Kerry up in his time of financial weakness.... but how bad off are they?

To my mind, this is just one of a number of examples of the inferiority of the Kerry campaign and the DNC. Look at how ahead of them the Bushies and the RNC are! My favorite part of that story is that the DNC did not even appear to know about a. What the Bushies were doing and b. What the law actually says until the REPORTER told them about it!
It is small stuff like this that is going to put Bush over the top on 11-2. They play the game smarter, faster and better than Kerry and co, which is a *really* pathetic campaign.

I knew there was something more to all of the "Our leaders in Congress" talk in the ads coming from Bush campaign lately. Yep. I suspected it, and this is the confirmation.

Maybe Teresa would be willing to nullify her prenuptual agreement with Kerry. That would free up a billion or so that he could use in his campaign.
How 'bout it, Teresa?

Never mind - I found it.
As of end of August, the RNC had $93.5Million on hand to the DNC's $55.5Million. Total cash -on-hand of all Party committees (except the Bush & Kerry campaigns themselves) was leaning Republican by 140-87 (Million).
