Mugabe blasts 'god Bush' New York - Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe, long a thorn in the side of the United States and Britain, drew applause at the United Nations on Wednesday for a scathing speech that tore into the Iraq war allies.
Mugabe blasted the two nations for holding up reform of the UN Security Council in "calculated" attempts at trying to preserve their influence at the United Nations.
"Ironically, it is some of the same forces that since last year have been raining bombs and hellfire on innocent Iraqis, purportedly in the name of democracy," he said.
"Iraq today has become a vast inferno created by blatant and completely illegal and defiant acts of aggression by the United States, Britain and their allies," Mugabe said.
"We are now being coerced to accept and believe that a new political-cum-religious doctrine has arisen, namely that 'There is but one political god, George W Bush, and Tony Blair is his prophet,'" he said.
That line, a play on a well-known saying of Islamic prayer, drew applause from diplomats gathered at the UN General Assembly on hand for the annual two-week debate of world leaders.
Mugabe also condemned Britain's work for his ouster, including sanctions against his country.
"Zimbabwe has also had to withstand unprovoked, declared and undeclared sanctions, imposed by Britain and its allies who are bent on bringing down our legitimately elected government," he said.
"Mr Tony Blair, the British prime minister, has arrogantly and unashamedly announced in his parliament that his government was working with Zimbabwe's opposition party to bring about regime change," he said.
"Once again, the lawless nature of this man who, along with his Washington master, believes he is God-ordained to rule our world, has shown itself," Mugabe said.
I thought he was not allowed to travel to the US, what happened to the sanctions?
the fool would be wise not to mess with "god"
The UN has morphed in to the evil Empire.
Ah, the voice of tolerance and brotherhood, Robert Mugabe. Pardon me, but I need to head off to my O.J. Simpson Marriage Counseling session (pun partially intended).
"I'm John Kerry, and I approve this speech."
In 6 months he will be crying that the United States is not helping enough in his socialist inspired starvation country...

Kewl...showdown at the U.N. Corral...hope I can get front row tickets.....the old adage "playing with fire" comes to mind....
Yet another unnamed foreign leader for Kerry...
Don't forget proud winner of the "African of the Year" award.
Who cares if they like us as long as they think we're Gods.
ON a lighter note, I googled Mugabe's name and found this really smart and funny site on Mugabe.

We need to get the US out of the UN, and the UN out of the US. Giving this mindless conglomeration of despots and malcontents space on American soil makes as much sense as housing the Reichstag on our soil.
This is a farce right? Robert Mugabe infamous dictator being cheered by the UN?
Better God-ordained than Satan-ordained like Mugabe. The U.N. building should be torn down and replaced with a parking lot.
I thought Mugabe was on campaign tour with Kerry...
do we give money to this idiot and his country? if so I want it back now.
"Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!"
Bush behaived like a responsible guy.
Once again he went to the clowns of the world and asked for their support.
Once again, the two-bit third world demons demonstrated their contempt and hatred for the U.S. by their treatment of him and their subsequent treatment of the racist murderer Mugabe.
It is now time to call in our cards, cut off all U.S. funding to the U.N., kick them out and watch this collection of third world hypocrites collapse upon themselves.
