"I was disgusted to catch an MSM reporterette on Keith Olberman's show the other night, in dissecting Rathergate, referring to FReepers as radical .. Sure hope other FReepers saw it and got her name .. I think her first name was Barbara .. but I'm in a tizzy packing ..and didn't get it all." ~ STARWISE

I not only saw it, I have the whole interview on videotape. She is not a "reporter". She has her own blog which are published on DU, as you will see referenced here: http://www.ruminatethis.com/archives/000209.html

See my comments below, and also a link to her web site.

Freerepublic is "Radical" says MSNBC guest, Buckhead mentioned MSNBC ^ | 9/21/04 | http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1222090/posts

My post:
Tonight on his program "Countdown", one of Keith Olberman's guests was Barbara O'Brien, author of a new book entitled, "Blogging America".

Internet bloggers and the Dan Rather/CBS flap was the subject.

They talked about "Buckhead" while Olberman mentioned "Free Republic" and showed his picture with his real name under it - explaining that he had been "outed" by the L.A. Times.

In the last minute of the interview, while Olberman showed Free Republic.com on the TV screen, O'Brien said, "Free Republic is a radical web site."

She said that when the Dan Rather memo thing first broke she had made certain comments about it on her web blog, but eventually had to shut it down because some people were coming there and posting obscenities on it. She said, "Thats the way people who don't like George Bush are being treated these days."

Here is her website: http://www.mahablog.com/

Well, maybe she meant "radical" in the GOOD sense!

AAh .. thanks for refreshing my memory. She was such a shrew. When you go to her website, isn't it odd that she capitalizes on a term Rush uses for himself, "MahaRushi" ..and that she uses the branded "Fair and Balanced" from Fox.

Seems to me that with her field of expertise alledgedly being the internet and the blogosphere, she was extremely dishonest in NOT divulging her partisan connections and spinning politically instead of conducting a technological discourse on the nature/scope/impact of blogs, etc. In other words .. a typical MSM interview, all smoke and mirrors fronting an agenda.

The libs are really getting desperate .. you can sense it in their vitriol, their body language, their lack of humor .. and terrible to say, but my gut tells me a a suicide watch is necessary for Rather. This man has been made transparent .. and taken down, and the ride will be very bumpy and humiliating ..exceedingly excrutiating for someone whose encounters with humility are non-existent.

God knows, we are all flawed, failed, fallible humans .. and we pray for the salvation and redemption of all God's children.

COOL! That's a compliment in my book.
