you know what i would absolutely LOVE to see??? - that whoever's running the show @ CBS, bite the bullet, call her bluff (if what's described above is fact) and take the inevitable crashing down of the tower into the next level - reconstruct the entire team starting with Brit Hume as the anchor.
Brit is, imho, the Edward Murrow of our Generation. And despite the zaniness of the above idea, I believe that a really smart businessman could see that the current apologies-that-aren't-apologies are - like the present meme that CBS is "fake-but-accurate" - making CBS into the laughingstock of the media world and likely causing more damage (for their arrogance in expecting the public to stupidly nod in agreement) than the actual rathergate forgeries themselves.
Of course, this ain't gonna happen; the evidence points more and more to a federal crime having been committed (media engaged in falsification of government docs to use in corrupting a general election) - and despite their brave, self-anointed eliteness, we all know that an amoeba has more of a backbone than they collectively have.
But a man can dream...
