NEWSMAKER QUOTE OF THE DAY Imus talks to CBS' Andy Rooney about Dan Rather admitting documents questioning President Bush's national guard service were fake.
Rooney: "I think there is some evidence that there must have been documents that approximated those that they did get."
Imus: "What evidence do we have of that?"
Rooney: "Interesting aspect of this story is that it is so complex. There was a feeling around for a while that this was a Republican plan. I talked to a real expert on this and they knew right away that these documents had been altered or were fraudulent. I don't know why. I mean they should have gone to somebody like that. The evidence that there is nothing true about what's in them doesn't exist...Somebody had something to start with when they started adding those things, typing them, retyping them... I can't imagine who would sit down, I mean these documents are long. Imagine someone sitting down to duplicate those documents on a computer that took days to retype them."
NEWSMAKER QUOTE OF THE DAY #2
Imus: "Until they can produce some evidence, shut up about what you think...you sound like a crazy person saying the 'information contained in fraudulent documents is accurate'. That's crazy. Either come up with the original documents or shut up."
What? 4 pages and not even full pages. It would take an experienced typist a few minutes to type them. And setting up Microsoft Word wouldn't take much time because they were typed with Word's default settings. Rooney is such an assclown.
