Excellent suggestion. The GPS would also have to have some kind of radio, either active or passive so it could be detected, which would mean the terrorists could also detect it.
GPS does not work inside a building or a car. The reciever needs a view of the sky.
Is there any tracing device we could detect, but the bad guys couldn't?
If I were in the hands of these animals, I want a GPS that makes me a target for american bombs. After all you're likely to die in their hands anyway.

A company in Florida that 'chips' people, has got a
solution to this problem. Might be just the thing to
do for the military personell.
Someone should come up with a "pepper gas" belt. Maybe 4 cannisters of pepper gas, evenly distributed around your waist. Put the thing on in the AM. If 4-5 islamokazis dog-pile on you, pull a pin and everybody goes down puking. Granted, the intended victim gets dosed, but maybe while they're all laying on the ground writhing, some good guys can come to the rescue.
Beats the damned alternative...
I thought about this also but it's obvious from the pictures of the orange jump suits that they are being searched so that means it's useless in shoes or clothing. The only thing I can think of is something you swallow that is bio-degradeable (may be reaching tin hat territory there)..
Exactly what I said a few months ago. The targeted victims would be sitting ducks.
