Free Republic began as a staunchly conservative web community but has been drawing a broader base of "Freepers," including libertarians, gays, practicing pagans and others attracted to its interactive forums of "netizens" often well-versed in history and equipped with dry humor. What was your sign-up date again? :)

I don't know if I like that characterization or not...have to mull it over for a while...

Hahaha, BURN on YOU Martin. Wooooosh!
And WTF is a "practicing" Pagan? Is there some population of retired Pagans to necessitate that adjective?

While it was bloggers who first cast light on the suspect nature of the documents, it was aggressive reporting by mainstream media, especially the Washington Post, which caused the story to reach critical mass.Oh, this only looked aggressive because of the context: most of the rest of the MSM was and continues to be AWOL. They don't want to know. Let CBS sort out its own scandal, seems to be their newsnose response.

On some of this stuff, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, I suppose.
Anything, tactics-wise, to bring down irresponsible journalism that tries to steal elections and bear false witness against our President.

Last I checked, Free Republic was still pretty staunchly conservative, at least this FReeper is. I can assume that this tent, being as large as it is, would attract individuals who would like to have intelligent conversation, instead of spewing vitriolic hatred.

I'm one of those libertarians proud to be a part of this community. It certainly is a mixed lot of people, but we all stand together against the defeatist leftwing nutjobs that stink up our country.

Libertarians I can agree with.
If there are gays and practicing pagans roaming the FR range, then I've yet to encounter them.
I've run into a few gay apologists....they're just wrong.
I've never run into anything pagan....that's SOOOO non-conservative. (And soooo debunked.)
