I am ashamed of the responses from some of you Freepers... you are advocating the extermination of an entire religion (over a BILLION people!) over the actions of a handful of nuts who pervert an otherwise peaceful religion. It really makes me sick.

I have some Islamic friends. A couple of them have decided to join the U.S. military to help in our struggle in the Middle East. They do not believe in the literal interpretation of the Koran, just like many Christians do not believe in a literal word for word interpretation of the Bible.
A lot of the Koran is metaphoric, describing battles between Islam and other "infidel" religions. Does the Bible not have these same metaphors of battles with other religions who reject Christ as God?
