the UN is still trying to locate Tortuga Island, an old pirate island ...
A good bit of research there, and well stated.
Furthermore, address your well sounded scientific opinion as to why Potsdam data and your review of the RAW data is somehow better than trained seismologists and seismic networks closer to the source?????
Isla Tortuga, currently being looked for by UN personnel, is the name of an island made famous in pirate lore. Situated north of Haiti in the Antilles, with an area of 180 sq. km., its inhabitants live off of fishing, business, and a tourism industry fed by its local legends.
It sounds, from the discussion above, as if Tortuga is not really gone, but rather the U.N.'s Cash Militares are just too corrupt to find it.
They're probably waiting for the mayor to offer a large bribe to get back on the map. Or back above sea level, as the case may be.
Its Bush's fault.

I was blaming the epople from the Undead Thread:

They had a very rambunctious "Talk Like a Pirate 4-Day Weekend."
But George Bush would be my second choice.
Sort of boggles the mind that an island with 26,000 people could just disappear (or not, as the case may be). I think my husband has a science fiction novel with this plot.
LOL, yeah, Hugh Hewlitt had a little of that on last Friday, poor callers were totally freaked out. Arrrarragh.
I just saw prime time news in german TV - it looks like old media is preparing to drop the bomb - 27,000 dead
I can't get my sons to stop it now!
LOL
old media status - day 4 after
