Well, well, well. What's going on here? White House wannabe John Kerry and Hollywood honey Uma Thurman look quite taken with one another. Right in front of Teresa - or should we say, right behind Teresa's back!Well, you know the junior senator has always had a soft spot for blonde actresses. (See Fairchild, Morgan; Oxenberg, Catherine; Sullivan, Susan; and Phillips, Michelle.)
Anyway, the three-way was in the Big Apple yesterday for Redbook maggie's annual ``Mothers and Shakers'' awards luncheon. T was honored for inspiring Americans to help others. Uma received an award for nurturing kids born into poverty whilst the junior senator gave the keynote address. Isn't that cozy?
And speaking of Teresa, the venerable New Yorker checks in with yet another profile of the volatile first lady-in-waiting. In it, we learn Teresa has again stuck her foot in her mouth by calling her detractors ``scumbags'' and by describing herself as ``African-American'' to black audiences.
You really have to love this woman!
``There are bizarre moments that make you shudder,'' said a Kerry insider to The New Yorker.
And really, what more can you ask in a first lady?
The piece also reveals - no big secret - Teresa is habitually late for appearances, is in love with the sound of her own voice (she'd like a weekly show on C-Span to ``talk and listen and make people's lives better'') and believes she's ``too old to be bossed around.''
The daughter of a doctor, Heinz loves to dispense medical advice. Friends think she is ``delightful, loving, funny and kindhearted'' but her step-daughters, Vanessa and Alexandra Kerry, did not hit it off with her at first.
``I thought, `I love kids, kids love me, I'll be fine.' Baloney,'' Teresa said. ``You have to treat stepchildren like pets. You're nice to them but you don't get too close or they chew you up. Well, I did it the other way.''
In fact, we hear the gals refer to Heinz as their ``step-money.'' As for her hubby, the piece says that Kerry spoke French to Teresa when he was wooing her, as is his wont.

A marvelous First Family, eh?
Can Mama T be this insane? I'm starting to think that she loves the shock value.
Charming portrayal of the fam!! >eyeroll<
But don't waste your breath telling that to the leaders of my party today. In their warped way of thinking, America is the problem, not the solution. They don't believe there is any real danger in the world except that which America brings upon itself through our clumsy and misguided foreign policy.
It is not their patriotism, it is their judgment that has been so sorely lacking.
They claimed Carter's pacifism would lead to peace. They were wrong.
They claimed Reagan's defense buildup would lead to war. They were wrong.
And no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.
I didn't think there could be anyone worse than Hitlary in the White House, but that's what I get for "thinking"! They'd have to change the name from "First Lady" to "First ----- (you add your own)cause "she ain't no Lady!"
Stick Evita back in the red bottle and call her narcissist coach. She's heading for a complete breakdown...elitist witch.
just GETS AHOLD of her...
She has never described herself as an "African-American". Rather Instead, she considers herself an "African American" (without the hyphen). There's a big difference, n'est pas?
These people deserve each other. They're all insane.
I find it hilarious that a woman born in AFRICA is not allowed by political correctness to call herself by a word that is apparently owned by people with African ancestry.
This is a great example of how the "party of tolerance" is really the party of lockstep, intolerant, mind- and speech-control.
I love that speech. We should always slip in excerpts in our posts just to keep poking the demorats..
Good job...
what a visual-Kerry parles-vous'ing her with sweet nothings....
