Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen, and Emilio Estavez are all from the same family. Martin Sheen changed his hispanic surname to an Americanized stagename. His son changed his real name to the same stagename of Sheen. Emilio retained his original hispanic surname for stage.
What does Rather's bio say?

If Rather is Dan's true last name, is there a Ramirez in the family tree? There are Texans that come from old tejano families that changed the name in the 19th or 20th century because of bias. BTW, tejanos are very proud and very different from recent immigrants."
