Mary Mapes (as most of you know) used to work for KIRO TV in Seattle. John Carlson of KVI radio was saying on his show that she was a leftwing nutjob when he worked for her at KIRO. Someone at National Review, Fox, etc. needs to get Carlson on to tell this story.

The media act like this is an honest mistake from CBS. This is not - this is a conspiracy between Mapes (maybe Rather), Texas Dems and Kerry's campaign. Mapes needs to be exposed... Anyone who knows anyone at National Review or Fox needs to talk to Carlson IMHO...

On one of the cable news shows tonight, they reported that Mapes' father has apologized for her, saying that she has an agenda and is a radical feminist. Wish I could remember whether it was Fox or MSNBC.

Mapes needs to be exposed

I think Rather is in this all the way up to his formerly blue eyes! He looks so humble and sounds so sincere, but he still WILL NOT say the story is wrong. Only that the "documents" are not real. CBS and RATHER have attempted to put this doubt about W's service into the minds of the ninnys who get their news from CBS. Rather needs to take his medicine now.... and CBS, too.

Yes, John Carlson of KVI in Seattle, not only has the stories about Mary Mapes...she called him on Friday (off-air). Carlson had been interviewed by the WSJ for an article on Ms. Mapes. For 20 min. he told them all the old KIRO-TV history, surprise...they left out everything but a bit on the hydroplane races. Mary (as of last Friday) claims that there is more to come including more documents...we'll see. My guess is the only document she will be seeing is of the "Pink" variety.

And yes Don Mapes of Burlington called the show to say how ashamed of Mary he is.
