An Aberdeenshire joiner has hit out after waiting nearly 24 hours to have a 3in nail removed from one of his fingers.

John Milne went to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary's accident and emergency department to have the nail removed but, after becoming increasingly frustrated, he left 22 hours later with it still in his finger.

It was eventually taken out in a matter of minutes by his local GP. He said the hospital told him he needed to see a plastic surgeon.

This is what we'll have if John F'n Kerry is elected. We'll turn what is now the greatest healthcare system in the world, and a model for them all, into complete and utter bureacracy. Anyone who doesn't believe me should spend a day in a VA hospital, and see for themselves.

I also think the the John Edwards segment will sue out of business what is left of the medical establishment after what socialized medicine will manage to erase.

You don't have to convince me. I am on a contract in a hospital(federal facility) on the Navajo reservation in NE Arizona. It takes patients forever to get seen, then they get very substandard care. Treatments the rest of the medical community take as accepted science are laughed at and denigrated here. No HillaryCare for me.

Mrs. Submareener spent almost two years working as a contractor at the national headquarters of a Federal government agency that provides health care benefits to Government Workers and other covered individuals.

She personally observed cases where people had their prescription for Oxygen canceled because, after one year of Oxygen therapy, their blood gasses were normal. Most of these individuals were able to survive until the next exam, but several died before they could be tested to see if they needed Oxygen. There are other horror stories too numerous to mention.

If you think private HMOs (thank you Teddy Kennedy) are bad, wait until you get medical care directly from the Federal Government!

I would have gone to my local friendly veterinarian and had it removed as a favor between us, and stitches if needed. He also has tetanus shots. (At least I bring my wonderful vet a lot of business, and he would have done it as a friend. But then, I don’t live in Scotland.)

I've always said that anyone who thinks socialized medicine is such a nifty idea should be made to spend some time in a country that has it.

Or the DMV, or traffic court, or the post office, or pretty much any entity that is run by state or feds.
