Bush-Cheney '04 Launches New Television Advertisement: "War on Terror Agenda"

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "War on Terror Agenda." The ad highlights President Bush and Congressional leaders' plan to make America safer, including increasing homeland security measures, reforming and strengthening our intelligence services, renewing the Patriot Act, creating a national counterterrorism center and transforming the military.  The President and Congressional leaders will continue to give our military what it needs to find the terrorists where they train and hide.  "War on Terror Agenda" will begin airing today on national cable and in select local markets. 

Script For "War On Terror Agenda"

Voice Over:
President Bush and our leaders in Congress have a plan:

Enhance border and port security
Increase homeland security measures
Reform and strengthen intelligence services
Renew the Patriot Act, giving law enforcement tools against terrorists
Create a national counterterrorism center
Transform our military
Give the military all it needs
Find terrorists where they train and hide

The audio content is good but I still don't like the line drawings on the screen. Too distracting.

I would call this a weak ad. Compared to many the campaign has put out, this one seems to fall short.

And as you said, the graphic content is not effective at all. It's more of a distraction than a help. And the key rule of advertising - what is memorable about the ad - nothing. Very sophomoric work - I have seen better work from young broadcast students in college.

I'm curious though... why is the CBS logo next to an american flag and a tank? Hidden symbolism? Or am I reading into it too much?
