Special thanks goes to ratherbiased.com and Cableguy for getting the word out.
Great work. I was wondering if Cleland's phony stunt taking the letter to the President's ranch had any ties with the memos.
nicely done.

NBC's Today, only after giving a full airing to
Burkett's claim, noted how the Boston Globe found a witness who
contradicts him......key witness to some of the events described by Burkett has
told the Globe that the central elements of his story are false.
George O. Conn, a former chief warrant officer with the Guard and
a friend of Burkett's, is the person whom Burkett says led him to
the room where the Bush records were being vetted. But Conn says
he never saw anyone combing through the Bush file or discarding
records.
"I have no recall of that," Conn said. "I have no recall of that
whatsoever. None. Zip. Nada."
Conn's recollection also undercuts another of Burkett's central
allegations: that he overheard Bush's onetime chief of staff, Joe
M. Allbaugh, telling a Texas Guard general to make sure there were
no embarrassments in the Bush record.
Burkett says he told Conn, over dinner that same night, what he
had overheard. But Conn says that, although Burkett told him he
worried that the Bush record would be sanitized, he never
mentioned overhearing the conversation between Allbaugh and
General Daniel James III.
Burkett's allegations also will be a major
focus of a book on Bush to be published next month.
But the book's author, James Moore, a former Houston TV news
correspondent, concedes he never interviewed some of the key
players who could have verified Burkett's charges, including Conn
and retired National Guard Colonel John Scribner -- the officer
Burkett says he saw removing items from the Bush file....

I should say so- Does anyone know what type of federal offence it is to create and distribute forged documents? This must be a felony and a case of libel and slander against Bush.
The timing of Cleland's trip and phone conversation with Burkett is raising suspicions.
Burkett Veteran for Peace, Burkett
ranted (an excerpt)1998:
.In January of 1998 :.."I know GW Bush and his inner circle very well. As I said, a UN
vote would not stop GW Bush from attacking Iraq. Nor will anything
else. And weapons of mass destruction will be discovered in great
quantities; but the entire affair will stink to high heavens
because it will be as staged as the White House press conference
you just viewed. The human death toll will publicly not be
mentioned, yet in truth, it will far exceed 120,000....
Now I feel sickness that today another massive group of people,
held worthless by this anointed king, will be trampled upon like
grapes. But their blood will not be rendered into wine. It will be
spilled into the sands of this desert or another, or on the
streets of Washington, or in the halls of the US Congress, or in
the courts....
We must now revert to the history of Europe to discern what to do.
We must study the nemesis of France and how Napoleon was felled
before understanding the damage a tyrant does to a nation and
society. We must examine the ruthless and dictatorial rise of yet
another of the three small men -- one whose name is not spoken out
of fear of reprisal, but his name was Adolf."

Wire fraud is a felony, and if it is proved that CBS knowingly disseminated fraudulent documents into the public domain, it could result in the revocation of the license to broadcast of CBS's owned affilliated radio and TV stations...in other words, bankruptcy for CBS. It is also punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Fact is, there are a LOT of VERY serious issues that should be pushed HARD OTHER than the documets. The other issues expose HOW THE MEDIA WING OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY ACTUALLY WORKS! CBS' "gold standard" included:
1. The widow and son were IGNORED
2. Document experts were IGNORED
3. Hodges was MISLED
4. The old secretary was NOT INTERVIEWED until afterward
5. Staudt, who had his character attacked in one memo, was never contacted
6. The opinions of the experts were MISREPRESENTED
7. The swift boat veterans were MALIGNED
8. George Bush's roomate DURING HIS GUARD YEARS, who AGREED TO SPEAK TO THEM WAS TURNED DOWN BECAUSE HE WAS TOO "PRO BUSH"...
And the list goes on. Fact is, this was a HIT PIECE ON BUSH. And just because dnCBS owns up to fake documents does NOT CLEAR THEIR PROPAGANDA / DNC REPORTING!!
Isn't Burkett claiming he gave the forgeries to Cleland and that is the last he saw them or had anything to do with them?
bump for later
Great post!
I couldn't find confirmation of Burkett actually "giving" the documents to Cleland. If you have a source, send it to me and we will add it to the next update. Thanks!
"You're traveling through another dimension,
a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind;
a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are
that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead-
- your next stop . . .
The Twilight Zone!"
Somebody please start the line of inquiry about WHO received the documents from the source...They keep saying nothing about the actual hand off..simply WHO TOOK POSSESION OF THE DOCUMENTS? AND...WHAT DISCUSSIONS TOOK PLACE REGARDING THE DOCUMENTS PRIOR TO TRANSMITTAL?
Burkett's posts to newsgroups provide a hint as to what discussions took place. ratherbiased.com has Burkett's posts to yahoo.
The point of the seeBS hit piece was to lend enough credence to kitty kelly's book so that not only would the drug charges stick, but to add credibility to other whacko claims. The seeBS story was to act as the trigger to ignite the already carefully positioned powder.
If the above is true, besides the assorted felonies involved, it means to me there are still unexploded packets of powder that have not yet been revealed. Using kitty's screed as a guidebook, we may be able to discern those powder packets and diffuse them. The rats will still use them, I believe, even though their power has been severely diminished. It's all they have left. This plan was the October surprise sprung early due to panic.
Now is no time to get complacent. More is on the way. Let's help it backfire as badly as memogate has.
