His identity, the Times says, "is likely to fuel speculation among Democrats that the efforts to discredit the CBS memos were engineered by Republicans eager to undermine reports that Bush received preferential treatment in the National Guard more than 30 years ago." I love this. This is almost as ridiculous as Mohamed Atta's father suggesting that the Jews were responsible for 9/11 and his boy had nothing to do with it.
I guess they don't teach Occam's Razor in journalism school.
My tagline says it all.

how were they able to out Buckhead?I have not seen that detailed, beyond the vague "going back through years of posts."
I will mention that I have always maintained that the alleged "anonymity" of the web was an illusion- frankly, if I were starting over on the web, I'd just use my proper name and be done with it. Molon Labe' sort of stuff, if you get my drift.

I've seen this question asked on another thread....not sure if it's been answered. I'd like to see the answer to this question.

Me too! As a transcriptionist who started typing on an IBM Selectra in the mid 80s, I remember what the finished product is sposed to look like. Therefore, I fully expected the font to be Courier style, which is boring and hard to read, and I knew immediately that there was something odd about these "old" memos. Before I could figure out what it was, I read the posts by Buckhead and Howlin and others, and then suddenly it all made sense.
I guess the MSM think they're the only people with brains in this country.

What??? Freepers are pawns?
Hey, we resent that! I would like to think we at least qualify as Knights!

The Left just doesn't want to get it.Not to detract a wit from buckhead, we are not a one man band around here. The Left has to find THE ONE person who dynamited their fraud. That is a mirror of how they see the world - not a million folks rationally discussing a policy, but a million folks marching lockstep behind Der Fuehrer. They cannot believe that there were hundreds of others ready to pounce with their own doubts, from typography, to content to chronology.

Here goes the lefty media, trying to distract attention from the real story again. We KNOW that CBS was "tipped off" by several document experts that these things were fakes, and ran a story based on them anyway. Even if Buckhead WAS "tipped off" (which I doubt was necessary, given the blatantness of the forgeries), at least he had the sense to ACT on the tip-off. I don't find it very sinister that our tippees are smart, while the leftist media tippees are stupid.

I am sure it's been asked and answered before, but has anyone heard from buckhead lately? I haven't seen postings from him since this thing blew up. Of course I certainly haven't read everything here.

"Buckhead has not been "exposed." All that has happened is that the media slime has uncovered his identity."
I've already asked on another thread, but I'll ask again...exactly HOW did the media find out who 'buckhead' was? Did he tell someone? This is what makes me anxious about even posting anything on the internet at all!

And somehow WE are to blame when we catch them being stupid and sloppy?"
This is the same group of people that formed the talking points to bring down the Bush administration and once the documents were leaked claimed that the leakers need to be punished, not the creator of the document.
Call it the Hannity Gambit.
