This really is a great story. But, hate to say it.. but your quote doesn't support the headline. This is really a coup, getting this story and I quoted you yesterday in a couple of threads. So I am definitely a fan.

But folks read this headline like Pierce has thrown up his hands. This isn't the case. He just was annoyed that they posted his ill considered first memo. Clearly he should be growing more embarrassed by the day. The fact that he is still working this.. is very curious.

Thanks for all the great 'welcome' messages folks - such a friendly place this is!

Actually dalight, in talking to Pierce it *did* seem like he was close to throwing up his hands...the poor guy sounded exhausted, beaten-down and somewhat confused. I really did feel for him.

By the way, a WaPo reporter got hold of me on Friday and spent about an hour talking to me about the Pierce info...don't know if they're going to use any of my info, but that's fine if they don't - that leaves the Athens Banner-Herald as the sole news source with the scoop on Pierce!

The fact that there are more memos not yet published is veeery interesting. Rumor has it that he WH has seen them.

It isn't curious.

It means the guy is either too biased himself to "believe himself" (to acknowledge, despite his own wishes and hopes) that they are fakes!) or that he won't be paid until CBS gets the answer they want from him ...

But,if it takes longer than 20 minutes for any "expert" to confirm these are faked documents, then the "expert" is not worth the ink and paper it takes to display his byline on CBS website.
