The Mississippi Republican Party is pleased to add longtime Democrat and State Senator Ralph Doxey of Marshall County to the ever-increasing number of GOP members serving in the Mississippi State Senate. Senator Doxey's announcement brings the total number of Republicans serving in the State Senate to 24, just two shy of parity with the Democrats. This historic benchmark is the closest margin between the two political parties in modern Mississippi history and underscores the fact that conservative Republican policies resonate with the people of the Magnolia State.

Or beware of Rats turning into Rinos!
It seems all the smart politicians and pundits switch to the GOP. OTOH, the ones that switch from the GOP to the Dims are seriously intellectually flawed: Arianna Huffington, TahRayZa, Hillary (claimed she used to be a Goldwater girl), and traitor Jeffords. We lose our dimmer bulbs, they gain a "shining star", LOLOLOLOL!
the enemy within
Yes indeed. We have quite enough of those Rinos running around and ruining the Republican Party as it is.
There's Collins and Snowe from Maine, Voinovich, Specter, Chafee, Warner, Domenici, McCain, Cochran, G. Smith, Lugar, etc. These are the dolts that continually cross over the aisle and vote with their DemocRAT pals.
Whoooo -- ooo
We just got rid of one in Wisconsin...the Senate Majority Leader was ousted in an 80% - 20% defeat in her own district despite theattempted intervention of her mentor, former Gov. Tommy Thompson.
To be fair, I don't think she ever was a Democrat. But she is a liberal who lied to her constitutents over a 20 year period. A true fiscal conservative, pro-life Republican defeated her in a cake walk, despite being under-funded and late to the challenge. (He filed at the last possible moment.)
Believe me, other RINO politicians in Wisconsin are shaking in their boots because they know they are next. They are now flocking to sign the taxpayers pledge and to back the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights.
And what do you think the ousted majority leader said in her closing remarks, as she resigned her post? She cautioned the other Republicans to "rule from the center". The "center" in Wisconsin is some form of Socialism!
The newspaper ran a column yesterday that said she couldn't have done worse in this election if she were dead!
Can you give some details--ie, her name and her opponent's name?
State Sen. Mary Panzer (R), whose family has run the Senate for about 50 years, was booted out, and State Rep. Glenn Grothman (R)was elected to the State Senate by 80%! he has no opponent in the general.
Not only that but State Sen. Mickey Lehman (R) was booted in a three way primary by a previously unknown Republican. The new guy (Don Pridemore) also has no opponent in the general.
Both of them lost because of their failure to do anything about our out of control tax situation, as well as their inability to get concealed carry passed and some of the other things they've passed recently, such as providing free birth control devices to youngsters as young as 15 without parental permission.
