However, openly gay individuals are no longer considered a security risk, at least by the National Security Agency. The NSA will hire homosexuals and give them the highest security classification. They value talent as long as the individual is not in a position to be blackmailed or compromised. The NSA even has a social group called GLOBE (Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees). Not really true. Homosexuality is treated like any other secret that could be used as blackmail. If someone is openly homosexual, that's not a security risk since it can't be used against them.
Actually, that is no longer true. Under Bill Clinton sexual issues which weren't criminal in nature (child molesting) were dropped as questions that could be asked during security backgroung checks. The CIA currently has an official gay and lesbian support group.
