DU stands for a website talk forum that is very liberal basically the opposite of this site. It stands for Democratic Underground.
You will also se DUmmies which we often refer to them as. LOL

As for the DU, think of a bunch of inbred crosses between Howard Dean and Dennis Kucinich on steroids and out of medication.
