Borders Union Employees Brag About Hiding ‘Unfit for Command’
Traditional Values Coalition ^ | 9/16/04 | Traditional Values Coalition

September 16, 2004 – The Borders bookstore employees union (Note From Webmaster: Here is a copy of google cache displaying this page as it seems to have been taken offline.) online forum is an amazing look into the minds of booksellers.

One section of the forum is specifically devoted to a discussion of how Borders employees deliberately hide copies of Unfit for Command or accidentally damage the books so they must be returned.

One poster noted: “We’re ‘finding’ that most of the few copies we’re getting are damaged and need to be sent back, so sad. Too bad Bushies! Regnery needs to be more careful. I’m hearing from people at 2 other stores that this seems to be common. Why should we help destroy what’s left of our country?”

Another says: “You guys don’t actually HAVE to sell the thing! Just ‘carelessly’ hide the boxes, ‘accidentally’ drop them off pallets, ‘forget’ to stock the ones you have, and then suggest a nice Al Franken or Micheal [sic] Moore book as a substitute. … I don’t care if these Neandertals [sic] in fancy suits get made at me, they aren’t regular customers anyway. Other than ‘Left Behind’ books, they don’t read. Anything you can do to make them feel unwelcome is only fair. … And they would censor your speech, your books, your music in a heartbeat, so give them a taste of it? Don’t get mad, get even!”

Other Borders bookseller said: “I want to get just one copy so I can tear it to shreds in front of one of these old grumpy men bent on conspiracy [sic] theory. I wish they really knew how little respect I have for them…”

Hopefully, the stores will start to lose money and these bozos will lose their jobs.

Perhaps it is time for a competitor that doesn't have an employee's union to open across the street.

That's okay. When my local Borders said that the full shipment of copies they received had to go to orders taken, I went home and ordered one from Amazon.com. Loss of revenue from me, Border's management.

Communism, Liberalism, Progressivism, Leftism, etc., is a significant and delusional disease that afflicts most people who are at a pathetic place in life...the rest have no excuses and are traitors to our Republic. I have very little compassion for their plight.

Someone who has a connection send a memo to Rush and the Blogosphere:
This is the way liberals fight the truth. Underhanded censorship.

"Neanderthals in fancy suits"

My local Borders happens to be near a state run homeless shelter, the bums like to take up space there during the daytime. I guess my wife and I (twenty-somethings, she's a teacher, I'm an operations manager) would be considered "Neanderthals in fancy suits" because we actually go there and SPEND MONEY. I guess we'll have to start buying our books from a store that appreciates our business.

I can tell you that the bookstores in my neighborhood also used to hide conservative books and the old American Spectator magazine as well.

Memo to Borders so-called employees: I loathe you and your employer. I only buy from Amazon. Low prices, NO SALES TAX, and I don't have to put up with your shitty attitude.

I went into a Borders the other day and hid all of the copies of BJ Klintoon's new book and Kitty Kelly's garbage.
