Interesting Rather calls his source as "Unimpeachable"-a term associated with elected officials
My first thought was that Rather meant Bill Clinton, as he's out of office and
presently is "unimpeachable".

he's out of office and presently is "unimpeachable". I dunno, after he left office he was doing some mouthing off and some republican warned him he could still be impeached, (he had signed an eleventh hour agreement with the special prosecuter.) The practical effect would have been to strip him of his pension and government paid office (this was pre-harlem, when his post-office office was slated to cost more than all previous presidents combined. Bill always deluxe on the taxpayers dime.)
