maybe if he raised the rent like RATS want to raise taxes that would make sense. Let the user pay. I know that small farms are hard work - but farm stats show that many earn in excess of 50,000 before the subsidies kick in. Then add outside income and many family farmers are comfortable.

I am not for subsidies so don't get me wrong here, I think they should pay for their own place of business just like everyone else. But remember that the farmers have to spend alot of money to earn that 50,000 first. Kind of like corporate profits doesn't mean revenue.
