Instead, Dan keeps demanding Bush respond to the ''serious questions'' raised by his fake memos. ''With respect, Mr. President,'' he droned the other day, ''answer the questions.''
Did Dan Rather and CBS News knowingly collude with the DNC to stage a political dirty trick? Did CBS news get the forged documents from DNC Chairman Terry McAulliff? "with respect" Mr Rather "Answer the questions"!

I like it when Mark Steyn is funny. Funny is good. Like the analogies, too. The question continues: How many times will Rather's double wide be blown into the sea by Hurricane Dumbass before the FEMA division of CBS stops cutting him checks?

* This per Bill O'Reilly last evening. This includes Rush L. and most Free Republic posters
Isn't it just hysterical How O'Reilly is doing EXACTLY what he accuses us of. He is making a knee jerk emotional defense of Dan Rather with NO consideration of the evidence. That's ok, now that Mr O'Reilly's facade of independent populism has fallen to reveal the real Old Media elitist he really is, soon he and Dan can retire to the Old Propagandists Home together and bitch to each other about those punks in the new media.
Another interesting question to this story beside how could Rather and CBS be so stupid is "Why is Bill O'Reilly rushing to Dan's defense?" Could it be because Westwood One, also owned by CBS Parent Company Viacom, is the sponsor of O'Reilly's radio program? Why is Bill O'Reilly so willing to commit professional suicide in a vain attempt to shield Rather from the consequences of his own stupidity and political bigotry? I have no PROOF Mr O'Reilly is responding to pressure from his sponsor but as Dan Rather said It isn't the accuracy of the charge, it's the thrust of the story that is important. Will all due respect Mr O'Reilly ANSWER the questions.

The incestuousness and crony capitalism. Don Imus sucks on the teet of Viacom, an amoral capitalist.

Hello.
My name is Licorice, and I must confess to being the author of those memos.
You see, John Kerry saved my life, and I was just trying to return the favor.
I saw Dan Rather on TV, I saw John's laptop sitting there.
I don't know what came over me.

>>>>>>>>>>>>Dan's been play-acting at being a reporter for so many years now -- the suspenders, the loosened tie, and all the other stuff that would look great if he were auditioning for a cheesy dinner-theater revival of ''The Front Page''; the over-the-top intros: ''Bob Schieffer, one of the best hard-nosed reporters in the business, has been working his sources. What have you managed to uncover for us, Bob?'', after which Bob reads out a DNC press release. Dan's been doing all this so long he doesn't seem to realize the news isn't just a show. <<<<<<<<<

Tho I have long respected Steyn and many others here on this site, the loathesome mass murderer Oliver Cromwell should never be quoted in a positive manner.
