Would knowing that Free Republic is kicking DU's butt all over the place make you feel better? Yes? Good! Every so often I post some stats to let everyone know how we are doing against the competition. This analysis shows exactly WHO people are getting their information from. Below I have included a mixed bag of web sites and compared them to our home on the web, Free Republic. It may make you feel just a little bit better to know that Free Republic ranks above so many of the "old media" outlets and well above some of our so-called "competitors". And, even though there are many sites that rank above us, there really isn't any competition. |

I post this to let you know that this is a great site. But, I also post this to let you know that this site provides an incredible amount of information at one heck of a price: FREE! But, I want you to ask yourself a question that the great Ronald Reagan used to ask of himself and his staff regularly: "Are you are prime mover, or a free rider?" While you can consume one of the planet's most comprehensive news and commentary website for free, you will enjoy it that much more when you know that you, John or Jane Q. Public, is directly supporting the cause. Because the site relies on donations to keep it up and going, I implore you to donate. More specifically, I urge you to make a monthly donation. That monthy contribution will help provide a stable and steady donation stream. Think of it this way, instead of spending that $10.00 or $20.00 on 3 or 4 magazine subscriptions, make your donation here and get news from HUNDREDS of newspapers, magazines, and other content-rich sources. You have seen the real power of Free Republic and the collaborative efforts of its members. You can be a part of all that or you can come here and be informed. Be a FRiend and donate. NOTE: This post is independently written and not at the direction or request of Jim or John Robinson. As a loyal member of this forum, I feel compelled to tell all the new readers about the site and the need to contribute in order to keep this forum going. Onward and upward to bump the LAT off their high horse next....
GOOD JOB!
You're KIDDING!
BWAAAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! All three of them crashed their piddly widdle server.
Perhaps if the bums got JOBS and DID something other than stew in hate and rage, they might be able to afford a used Packard Bell.
just went to take a look at that site, i have never seen it before. I fell dirty now!
May I suggest that this thread be rerun for a FReepathon?
It is great!
that was supposed to be I feel dirty now.
We outrank Rush ? Wow . . . who woulda thunk it.
After years of reading their stuff posted here, I finally went over to read DU for the first time a few days ago. I wanted to see their take on Rathergate. What a vile group -- pretty much all profanity, anger and delusion. Not a worthy competitor and not a left wing equivalent of FR. Think I'll go back to letting those with stronger stomachs read it on our behalf.
Now that we're here, let's not let anyone else in. Just kidding... mostly
'Course, part of that's because of all the DUmmies trolling for ZOTs over (and over) here.
They outrank Rush and Hannity's sites.
Our immediate goal is to surpass the LA Times.
By the way, what constitutes "traffic"?
The last time I visited that site I got cooties.
I wonder where Lucianne ranks>? An interesting thing just happened to me. over at L, they had posted an article from the Weekly Standard that prominently mentioned FreeRepublic. I tried 3 times to post a comment to that article and was denied each time. I think it was because I used the word Free Republic, or Freeper.
L allowed me to post comments on several other threads, both before and after my denials on the Weekly Standard article, so I am in good standing. (The original article was about Buckhead's exposure of the Rather memo fraud. The original article included some sniping comments about FReepers rattling their cages that I took exception to.)
Yea, I've been reading their crap some lately too. Their threads are simply opinions with vague references to facts and news here and there, but they're too worried about trolls to have honest policy discussions (like the Bushbots here...).
If you are keeping score, I believe 60% of the traffic at that other site is our folks going to see the freakshow.
Support DU. Click here to donate Democratic Underground is a totally independent website, funded almost entirely by member donations. ...
Ever wonder where the rest comes from?
