Fallujah Terror Meeting Hit, Car Bombers Target Baghdad

WASHINGTON, Sept. 17, 2004 – Multinational forces today struck at a terrorist meeting in Fallujah, Iraq, while Baghdad experienced two car bombings.

The Fallujah strike was aimed at 10 members of the Abu Musab al Zarqawi terror network who'd gathered near a mosque and school in the central part of the city. No innocent civilians were injured in the attack, nor was damage done to either the mosque or the school.

Two car bombings, with one incident reportedly involving a driver and passenger who perished along with their vehicle, occurred today in Baghdad. Pro-Iraqi- government forces fired on a vehicle that was apparently trying to crash through a military checkpoint. The car blew up. Two insurgents in the car were killed in the explosion, while one Iraqi National Guard soldier was wounded.

In another part of Baghdad, a car bomb went off near Iraqi police units. The number of Iraqi civilians killed or wounded were unknown. There were no U.S. casualties.

Both incidents are under investigation.

Oh geeze. The terrorists are targeted. If children or any other innocent bystanders are killed in our rightful attempts to kill terrorists, then they, and their cause bear the ultimate responsibility.

How many lives are SAVED by killing these terrorists whenever we have the opportunity?

I am willing to sacrifice innocent Iraqis rather than innocent Americans, if I am given a choice. In this case, we were.

Ok, ignoring your gratuitous personal slap, what is your point? That people die in wars, and sometimes those people are children? That innocent people dying is not good?

The amusement expressed in this thread is gallows humor, kind of like laughing at the "darwin award" winners.

Nobody here truly expresses amusement at other people getting killed, save the terrorists themselves, perhaps - yet you seem to be able to cast aspersions liberally.
