...the power of the mainstream media (MSM) in the United States is being seriously challenged by a mostly ragtag army of outsiders armed with little more than the internet. Somehow reminds me of the Redcoats and the Minutemen. And we all know who won that war. :)

Transcript of Matt Drudge's 1998 Remarks Before the National Press Club
REALNEWS.COM (Michelle Malkin Alert) -- The resignation of CNN executive Eason Jordan last Friday night caused near-fainting spells in the journalism world. And now the backlash against the blogosphere the legions of Internet citizen journalists who pressured Jordan to come clean about controversial remarks he made at a World Economic Forum panel in Davos, Switzerland on Jan. 27 has begun.
The way the media is circling the wagons on this is starting to look like their reaction to the Swift Boat Vets.
I see already how they are going to attack. First, they'll try to smear the players by pointing to the so called rabid fans. After seeing that will not work, they'll try and plant a player or a bogus issue to try and smear the credibility of all bloggers. It is all so very predictable.
Power of the BlogoSphere:
Serfing the Web --I missed it when it was broadcast, but Trey Jackson has video of Jeff Jarvis appearance on CNNs Reliable Sources with Washington Post journalist Howard Kurtz: Jeff Jarvis - The Story is not over. Its edited to show only the sections with Jeff and he makes very good points, especially in his answer to the absurd Blogs=McCarthyism charge, raised by Kurtz. Heres Jeffs post at buzzmachine about the show: Serfs at the news cathedrals gates.
Now that everyone has access to a press -- the internet -- anyone you talk to could be a Wolf Blitzer in sheep's clothing.
Welcome to the age of transparency.
...and a cautionary verse from Yer Obedient Servant?
Need Intelligent Freeper Input: Guidelines For Our Prominent Freepers
We will all be under added scrutiny- don't be intimidated, but do choose your words carefully- you may be required to eat them!
