I read this story in Unfit for Command, they said the contract to do the work on that port in Vietnam was given to a company in Singapore whose branch head was Kerry's brother in law (brother of his first wife).

That deal alone put Colliers in a position to make tens of millions of dollars on the rush to upgrade Vietnam's ports, railroads, highways, government buildings, etc. C. Stewart Forbes, Chief Executive Officer of Colliers International, is Kerry's cousin.
