For what it's worth, I'm sending my application in, just in case. New Jersey hunters, we need to make some noise about this!

I would rather the bears could vote than the illegals or the dead.

Excellent move by Fish & Wildlife. Bradley Campbell and the DEP are just playing games: He doesn't like that F&W voted to hold another bear hunt, so he won't issue new permits.

It might be time to sue Campbell.

NJF, here's the link for the "new" application forms.

http://www.njsfsc.org/

Ted Nugent has the forms on his website, too.

I'm sending mine in today. Fish & Wildlife has said they'll accept such forms.

The Great State of New Jersey, where the Government Does What It Wishes! What an embarrassment.

I can't find the new permit applications anywhere on the site you linked. Any other suggestions?

My information was posted in 2004, and obviously things have changed: Bradley Campbell won the lawsuit and the NJ Supremes upheld his cancellation of the December 2004 hunt; the Council had to adopt a "comprehensive" study of the bear hunt and submit it to Campbell (which they just did); and now Campbell has to decide if the hunt goes forward in December 2005.

My guess: It will. New York and Pennsylvania are complaining about NJ's bears, and while NJ hunters and outdoorsman have darn close to zero clout in this state, politicians tend to listen to other politicians.

A periodic check of NJ's Fish and Wildlife website is probably your best bet, or call them and ask about permits: they're very responsive and accessible.

Good luck to all hunters!
