I don't know what's going on in Chicago, but my gay friends are as much aghast as the rest of us at this kind of thing. There is reason to believe that gay men are disproportionately more likely to be child molesters, but I can't help thinking of Genesis 18, where Lot pleads with the Lord over Sodom:

Then Abraham spoke up again: "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty?
