The September 20 issue of Time Magazine, now out on newsstands, has a story on undocumented immigration from Mexico that could have been taken straight off the Web site of an anti- immigration group. The "Special Investigation" is the magazine's cover story, "America's Border: Even After 9/11, It's Outrageously Easy to Sneak In." The article is full of inaccuracies, innuendos, and just plain inept reporting.

yes, that is where I got the link. I just think that we should use La Raza's numbers to call/fax Time and tell them to keep up the great work. Don't let La Raza get away with strong arming them.
At last the MSM gets it! This is great news. BUSH LISTEN UP!

Thank you for doing due diligence and printing the article about America's broken borders on Sept. 20.
Please don't let La Raza strong arm you. Keep the problems of illegal immigration on the front page if possible.
But you can FReep the poll on the left hand side of the page: Do you think the U.S. is doing enough to secure its borders?
Current results:
Yes - 28.4%
No -- 71.3%
Don't know - 0.3%
FWIW, these percentages reflect what I've seen in other polls on this question.
The American people clearly want Washington to do more. I wonder why Washington isn't listening on this issue?
The Republicans and Democrats get the message? The mainstream media employees will give this story legs?
Don't count on it. "Cheap" labor is just one "benefit" of all forms of unhindered, endless immigration -- including ILLEGAL immigration.
Would you believe, it's what's keeping the real estate market going. This American Land Title Association article ("Foreign-born add market support from the ground up," by Steve Kropper) says
"Immigration is the key driver of primary housing demand in the United States and explains why home prices aren't headed toward a fall. The flood of immigration is untouched and continues unabated. Immigrants keep the housing market flush with first-time buyers, who come in at the bottom and support the market as they move up the housing ladder. Immigrants comprise roughly 11 percent of all resale home transactions."
Even the most fervent foe of ILLEGAL immigration is not going to prick the bubble and damage his nest egg.
The "war" is over, they won?
