Gov. Howard Dean and Democracy for America Endorses David Van Os for Texas Supreme Court
San Antonio, TexasDavid Van Os, Democratic candidate for the Texas Supreme Court, has been endorsed by Gov. Howard Dean, honorary chair and founder of Democracy for America (www.democracyforamerica.com). Van Os is part of the Dean Dozen, a select group of socially progressive, fiscally responsible candidates that represent the spirit of grassroots democracy in this country.
On behalf of the candidates, Democracy for America has reached out to their supporters to inform them that Van Os was part of the Dean Dozen. Many of these enthusiastic supporters have already expressed interest in financially supporting and volunteering for candidates Dean endorses.
It is a great honor to receive the endorsement of Governor Howard Dean" said Van Os. "Governor Dean represents the voice of millions of ordinary Americans and Texans who want to take their government back from the special interests in every branch and at every level of government. This endorsement is a huge boost to my campaign to restore the courts of Texas to the ownership of the people of Texas."
This year the race for the presidency is unbelievably important, Gov. Dean said. Beside our efforts to evict George W. Bush from the White House, we must expand the base of the Democratic Party by competing in tough races across the nation. This group of candidates represents the future leaders of our country.
Two weeks ago another group of Dean Dozen candidates was announced. Within hours, candidates running for all levels of government saw the impact of this powerful endorsement: Rob MacKenna, candidate for supervisor of elections in Hillsborough County, Fla had 22,840 visits to his Web site the Friday after the endorsement, up from a daily average of 420. Jeff Smith, candidate for US House from Missouri, saw a 600% increase in web traffic in the first 24 hours after the endorsement and has received national media interest in his 10-way primary to fill the vacant seat of Rep. Richard Gephardt (D-Mo.). This intense Web traffic led to increased donations and volunteer support.
Dean will be endorsing a dozen candidates every two weeks. For a complete list, please visit www.democracyforamerica.com/DeanDozen/.
Today there is not a single Democrat among the nine Justices on the Texas Supreme Court. The all-Republican Court has tilted the scales of justice against working people. David Van Os is a practicing attorney of 27 years experience who has built a distinguished record as an advocate of justice for working people. He is a peoples lawyer who will be a peoples judge on a Court that is badly in need of a voice for the people.
Democracy for America is a political action committee dedicated to building a grassroots network to support socially progressive, fiscally conservative candidates at all levels of government.
Translation:
Howard Dean & "Democracy for America" give David Van Os the kiss of death.
Hmmmm...Van Os, Van Os, where I have I heard that name before??
I think I smell a payoff here...
My gosh, does the ridiculous collusion in the Dim party never end?
Van Os? Bill Burketts Lawyer, Van Os?
Oh them crazy incestuous Texas democrats, they will give politics a bad name.
Please list his opponent so interested freepers can help.
There, that's more like the truth.
"Van Os? Bill Burketts Lawyer, Van Os?"
And I think I read on another thread that he works for a law firm with a Mr. Richards (Ann's husband?)
And who is GOP candidate runing against this guy?
Howard Dean is very much out there, working behind the scenes, to get liberal candidates elected. He is behind Bruce Babbitt here in Northern Arizona. It also appears that he has some real clout with Move-on.org since he got them to sponser Bruce Babbitt, too... that must mean he's in bed with Soros. Babbitt is a very liberal environmentalist, so a pattern forms --in my mind.
HE WORKED ACTIVELY ON DEAN'S CAMPAIGN!
See the second paragraph
To receive the endorsement of Governor Howard Dean, the man who gave voice to millions for whom nobody was speaking, is an honor beyond measure. Governor Dean represents the aspirations of millions of Americans who want to take their country back from the special interests in every branch and at every level of government. His endorsement will be a huge boost to my campaign to restore the Courts of Texas to the ownership of the people of Texas, and at the same time, to kick the totalitarian Republican political beast right in its belly.
I became actively involved in the Dean campaign in Texas in the early summer of 2003. Governor Dean inspired me enormously. He made people realize that they really can stand up and fight to take their country back from the right-wing clique that has hijacked the Republican Party and through it the whole government. He re-ignited peoples faith in their ability to retake ownership of their government through grass roots political action. His inspiration was a large factor in my decision to challenge the special interests that control the Republican Party for a seat on the Texas Supreme Court, one of their bastions.
The only thing that can stop us from winning the struggle to take our government back is our own disbelief in our power to do it. We the people do have the power, and our time has come.
David Van Os

I'm not an expert on AZ, but I can tell you Dean's endorsement doesn't help any candidate statewide in Texas.
The winner on Nov 2. There are 0 RATS elected statewide.
Thanks to W's blowout win in 1998.
I remember the only store at Grand Canyon National Park is Babbitt's They charge outrageous prices.
Sorry, but I live in Texas and I never heard of this guy.
Not this ol' gal. I'll be sure and pull the lever for his opponent. *~*
I'm sure you'll will over the next week or so. He's Burkett's lawyer. He was one of the lawyers trying to throw out military ballots in Florida in 2000.
Bio of Van Os (Burkett's chad counting Lawyer) & DNC Connections
OMG! Say it ain't so. We need to have the exterminator trucks out spraying in some parts of Texas to get rid of this kind of varmin.*~*
Howard Dean was just on CNN vaguely mentioning that the election should be on today's issues.
INTERESTING THAT HE DOES THIS TODAY...on the same day that a client of a man who worked on his campaign is pegged as a source for the memos.
