"The mainstream media's accusation that President Bush lied about terrorist links between al Qaeda and Saddam were blown out of the water by President Vladymir Putin. In a public statement Putin said that after 9/11 Russian intelligence had warned Washington several times that Saddam Hussein was planning to attack the United States.
Putin said: "I can confirm that after the events of September 11, 2001, and up to the military operation in Iraq, Russian special services and Russian intelligence several times received .?.?. information that official organs of Saddam's regime were preparing terrorist acts on the territory of the United States and beyond its borders, at U.S. military and civilian locations."
Putin said that while he was groveling to try and get back into his lucritive oil deals with Iraq. Compare them with his most recent comments when he blames the United States on the terror in Russia and backs away from his own Soviet style tactics that kindled the crisis.
Very selective of you...and too funny in a Soviet kind of way.
