Have you ever heard of the stages of grief? Anger is one of them.

After losing a son, I would imagine that stuff like honor, country, patriotism, duty seem mighty trite compared to hugging that person they raised. It helps that a son was lost doing honorable things for a love of country BUT it still hurts, it still means they are gone forever.

Just give her the compassion she needs as she moves through the stages of grief. Afterall, she has given more than most.
