I didn't even mention that Liar Dan lied to General Hodges as if Old Dan Rather thinks he can fool all the people all the time. Just think were it not for the new media, the General would have no where to turn in order to call Rather a liar.

I have to agree with you ClancyJ. My mom is a dyed in the wool democrat. She is 83, always has been and always will be a democrat, but I love her anyway.
It does trouble her somewhat though that out of 7 children she raised 6 Republicans. I think she believes she failed somewhere along the line, when in actuality she did a great job.

Hell, CBS never mentions that Dan Rather spoke at a Democrat Party FUNDRAISER in Texas a few years back. NO ONE mentions that...but we're supposed to believe Dan is objective? Gimme a break.

I find it hard to believe she remembers events of 30+ years ago...Bush was a nobody and his father was a nobody (a Representative is not a man with heavy duty clout)) And his father wasn't even in office at that time. He lost the Senate race in 1970 to Lloyd Bentsen. But Bentsen's son was in the same unit. Something tells me anybody around there would remember the senator's son more they would the son of the guy who lost to him, but that's me. Incidentally, Bentsen's son denied that Ben Barnes had anything to do with Bentsen's appointment there.

Inconsistencies in the Knox 60 Minutes II interview at
60 minutes II
Knox remembers Lt. Bush well, and saw him often as he showed up for weekend training in 1971 and 1972.
He was always very gentlemanly. He called me by the name of his fathers secretary. He was always apologizing about that, recalls Knox. He couldnt remember my name. I felt that his parents must have been wonderful to have produced somebody as nice as that.
from
link, see post #2 by Ambrose...
Last week, Knox said she had no firsthand knowledge of Bush's time with the Texas Air National Guard, although she did recall a culture of special treatment for the sons of prominent people, such as Bush and others.
...
see article
Col. Killian's secretary, Marion Carr Knox, describes herself as Col. Killian's "right hand" during much of the 1970s.
from
link "First of all, she was the secretary not just to my dad but to many officers, and her primary job was to do typing for the group commander," Killian said.
She addressed one memo, and a reference to retired Gen. Staudt pushing for a positive officer training report on Lt. Bush. Staudt retired 18 months earlier than the date in the letter.
I know that I didnt type them," says Knox. "However, the information in those is correct. Except for the multiple differences that Knox outlines later such as the physical is usually taken by the pilot's birthday.
Once in a while they might be late, but there would be a good excuse for it and let the commander know and try to set up a date for a make-up. Once in a while they might be late, but there would be a good excuse for it and let the commander know and try to set up a date for a make-up. If they did not take that physical, they were off flying status until they did.
The reason was Bush was relocating to Alabama. In Alabama there were no F-102 aircraft. There was no point getting flying status, because there were no F-102's for him to fly there.
But did Lt. Bush get into the National Guard on the basis of preferential treatment?
I'm going to say that he did, says Knox. I feel that he did, because there were a lot other boys in there in the same way." Hearsay. She has no proof, so how would she know this as a fact.
These memos were not memos that you typed, and you dont think they came directly out of his files, Rather asked Knox.
"The information, yes," says Knox. "It seems that somebody did see those memos, and then tried to reproduce and maybe changed them enough so that he wouldnt get in trouble over it." Why would the forgerer change them enough that it looks like a forgery? Why would you want to change them enough so that you won't get in troube over it? It doesn't make any sense.
Knox says the fact that then-Lt. Bush was repeatedly missing drills was not lost on his fellow pilots.
"They missed him. It was sort of gossip around there, and they'd [the other officers would] snicker and so forth about what he was getting away with," says Knox. "I guess there was even a resentment."
How would she even know. He was in Alabama. Why would other officers be talking about Bush in Alabama?
To: igoramus987
Why would other officers be talking about Bush in Alabama? Because he was a future president of course. /sarcasm
To: Pikamax
Was it ever mentioned in the show that Knox has given prior interviews in which she said she had no personal knowledge of Bush's time in the TexANG?

We all know that "dead men" do not talk, but CBS has a new reality show. CBS has gone "NEW AGE" back to the dark age.
All CBS needs now for the final act is to have that guy that "Crosses Over".

Can they did up personnel records from the base to prove that Know was nothing more than a pool typist? Then that would be "game, set and match."

I know - bless their sweet hearts.
My mother in law was the same - democrat. Always afraid the republicans would take away her social security. All of her children were republicans and never could convince her that that was a lie. Another reason I hate democrats - making these gentle old people spend their last days worrying about their social security being taken away. How very cruel in a rush to power.
If they will scare old people, what else will they do to get power?
