As a South Floridian, I always think of the island people as our neighbors, which they are. Lots of them have migrated to this area, where they are productive citizens, not to mention more friendly than many of our native born citizens. I never can get why so many Americans don't give a damn about them. Their countries are practically right next door.

Have you seen the photos of Florida East coast and west coast, panhandle, Gulf Shores, Alabama, the flooding in the midwest and North Carolina. This is one time that we have to think of our fellow countrymen and women first.
