Here`s a Ramones flash movie that is hilarious. Totally bashes the hell out of Ted Kennedy and other liberals. Johnny would have loved this one, he might have even seen it. Hell, for all I know he could have even been the one who made it!

Ramones bash Teddy

Weegee was slow on the draw last night / this morning so I'm pinging everyone to this.

It's my sad duty to inform you all that Johnny Ramone has passed on to the other side.

GABBA GABBA HEY!!! Rest In Peace, Johnny!

Rock and Roll PING! email Weegee to get on/off this list (or grab it yourself to PING the rest)

Resquiat In Pace

Everytime a Ramone dies, a 18-year old melo-punk guitarist loses some talent.

Anyone who thinks that the Ramones were conservative or liberal, they didn't care either way. They just got drunk, stoned, or coked-up and wrote some Ramones material that lasted forever.

I agree. The Ramones and The Clash saved rock.

Gabba Gabba Hey, Johnny. Adios Amigo.

My 3 and 5 year old daughters will rarely let me drive anywhere without playing the Ramones. They love Blitzkrieg Bop and Pinhead especially. They bash away at their air guitar and air drums and scream "..We accept you, we accept you, ONE OF US!" God love 'em, beats Barney CD's any day.

I REALLY owe Johnny and the Ramones...

Damn.

Saw the Ramones a couple of times in their heyday ( once in Hartford and once at UCONN outside in a daytime concert ) and man they cooked with rocket fuel . No breaks between songs ( 1-2-3-4 ! ) . Power ...Energy ...Tongues planted firmly in cheeks ...I recall seeing them crossing the street together one dark night in NYC many moons ago ...We were waiting at a red signal ..." Hey - The Ramones ! " ...Let's hope Johnny is in a better place ...RIP ...

They had two other good songs "Dictionary Girl" and "Danny Bonnaducci" (sp?)

Back in my college radio days, I'd play "end of the ramones" back to back with "Rock n' Roll High School"

Your girls have great taste!

I should post a pic of my 19-month-old in her Ramones onesie (courtesy of Hot Topic) and her black, hi-top Chuck Taylors. She's also got a shirt that says, "Gabba Gabba Goo: Rock and Roll PreSchool!"

RIP Johnny. At least we still have Marky, but he's now touring with the ex-fits.

have narrowed down my records to about 150 records (not counting the jazz), I used to have about triple of the that. Now that I don't use them all the time. I only occasionally doing a jazz radio show and I have been slowly replacing my LP's with Cd's.

That is a far cry from being the greatest rock band ever. I like what I have heard from them but they are no better than the Thunderbirds or Stray Cats, if as good.

While not my favorite LZ is a far better and more influential band than the Ramones. The other two you mentioned are insignificant.

You can't compare Zep with the Ramones. You're missing the whole point. The Ramones reached an audience by taken rock music back its basics....three chords and a fast tempo. They provided the blueprint for much of what was to follow in the punk realm.

They were also one of the first bands to meld rock music with junk culture.

At least the Dictators are still around.
