btw, duckie told by phone me right before the ship sailed that the, "food so far is AWFUL! BLAND, DRIED OUT & generally NASTY." & that, "i'll probably lose weight on this boat, as i've decided that i'll have to stick to fresh fruit & salads." & "you wouldn't be HAPPY about the food."
btw,i've been told many times by numerous people that i'm a real pita to cook for! (i plead GUILTY as charged on that, as i won't eat anything that looks like a cold cut sandwich, no chocolate,no coconut,no peanuts, anything that isn't HOT if it's supposed to be HOT, anything that's not COLD that's supposed to be COLD,no canned anything, etc, etc, etc.)

WOW that's unusual about the lousy food on a cruise ship I would think! While I have not been a a long cruise I have eaten on board a gambling ship and a Mississippi River boat. Now that was eating, Creole food, oh man good stuff. Spent the 4th of July on the French Quarter one year while attending a poetry convention. Did the River Boat thing on the 4th, fabulous, watched the fireworks being fired off on a river barge. WOO HOO. The hotel I stayed in was on the French Quarter, also. What restaurants around there.
