"Can an Abilene Freeper get to the Kinkos in question and look for the document in My Documents folder or in Recycle bin?"
My friend, I have an even better idea-- why not have Kinkos review their security tapes and find out who was in there around the time this fax was sent???!!!!
Even better. But the actual document on a disk drive would seal the deal.

We now know the memos were faxed from Kinkos in/near Abilene, Texas, but that knowledge does not tell us why Dan Blather and 60 Minutes was so willing to run with the story. Who at CBS had talked with the individual who faxed them -- or were they faxed by a CBS/60 Minutes employee who obtained them from the "unimpeachable source"?
The documents were faxed via fax machine. My speculation is that the documents were altered, then taken to Kinkos for faxing. Faxing outside the home wouldn't leave a paper trail. Kinkos in Abilene will have a log of any faxs made via fax machine along with the customer name. Find the number faxed to and you can determine the date and time the document was faxed either thru internal documents or telephone bill records as well as the customer name.
