Here's what I think CBS's spin is going to be:

Burkitt is their source for the docs, and Burkitt rescued Bush files that he saw being shredded in 1997. Never mind that for seven years, he never produced anything to back up his source; he's going to be the fall guy here.

The only problem with Burkett as the source of the documents is that there are lots of errors in the documents that a Guardsman wouldn't make (like the Lt. Col abbreviations).

Burkett may be the bag man, but the person who wrote these memos was not in the Guard or the military.
