Pure CBS Crap
If it was faxed, it would have the fax headers and footer info. The pdfs provided by CBS on their website don't have any fax headers and footer info.

Ah, forgeries, and wire fraud. Excellent!

From Ann Coulter's column published today:
As we now know, CBS' own expert told them there were problems with the documents the main one being that they were clearly fakes dummied up at a Kinko's outlet from somebody's laptop at 4 a.m.
Either Ann gets her column together in a real hurry, or a little birdie whispered in her ear about the Kinko's angle.

I wonder (conspiracy theory) if CBS could have faxed these forged documents to themselves, and this is part of their endgame? It will be interesting to discover what day/time these were faxed? Also be interested to know how this was discovered to have been faxed from Kinkos. Need to get the tinfoil hat back on!

Folks, I suspect Dan Rather, CBS, DNC & Kerry have "thrown Burkett under the bus" (and not undeservedly so).

No sooner than the 60 Minutes interview aired with Killian's secretary claiming that the content in the fake memos were on target, this comes along to knock it off the radar. Impeccable timing, that. And it was the Washington Post too.

Who is Bill Burkett? Why, he's an unimpeachable source of course. BWHAHAHAHAHA
The issue here is not that Bill Burkett is a liberal. It isn't even that he is left wing. The issue is that he is loony left. We are in "precious bodily fluids" territory. I'm not calling Burkett a Democrat because I think he is too far left to be a Democrat. This is the left wing version of the John Birch Society.
Not only are Bill Burkett's politics loony left but he is trying to be a political player, writing editorials and trying to sway the American people against George Bush and the Republican Party.

I used to live in Abilene. The best way to get there is to fly from DFW. Mapes likely did that when she went to interview Burkett in Baird. Baird is tiny. Nothing there except a bakery (Mrs. Baird's Bread). It is about 15 minutes from the Abilene airport. Commuter airlines fly to Abilene from DFW several times each day.
Postulation:
1. There will be record of Mapes flying to Abilene.
2. There will be record of Mapes renting a car to drive to Baird.
3. After the interview, Mapes stopped at the Kinkos to fax the fake documents. The Kinkos on South Danville is about 10 minutes from the airport. (I used to live right near there).

The noose tightens. This is just amazingly stupid on the part of C..BS. I suppose they think they are so powerful that they can slander a sitting, wartime, President with deliberately doctored forgeries and dare anyone to question their integrity.
I hope every affiliate drops them, we should certainly be calling and suggesting it.

Some lucky freeper needs to walk into that Kinko's late tonight with a picture of Bill Burkett and ask the college kids behind the desk if anyone recognizes him.

I've been battling reporters about Burkett for months.
Here is a post about an exchange that I had with the Dallas Morning News about Burkett.
Wayne Slater of the Dallas Morning News, who co-wrote the book "Bush's Brain," wrote a dreadful anti-Bush screed
here that used Bill Burkett as the sole source. A few minutes of Googling revealed that Burkett's story had changed radically from the
one he was telling during the 2000 campaign. In 2000, Burkett denied that the Bush team had "doctored" Bush's military records; now he's claiming that in 1997 he heard orders over a speakerphone from Joe Allbaugh to destroy damaging records. Leave it to the mainstream media to ignore those discrepancies.
Why did Burkett change his story so radically since 2000 and how can he now remember with such clarity an event that he apparently couldn't remember 4 years ago? I'm no journalist but I believe that this source has a severe credibility problem.
Further, Burkett has long been a vocal Bush opponent and has other credibility issues, such as this court case where he sued his superior officers for denying him military medical care. His case was dismissed by the trial court and was thrown out again when he appealed. Burkett claims that Bush sent him on the trip that caused his illness and has had it in for Bush ever since.

OK, lets get serious.
If the documents were faxed from Kinko's by some wacko ex-TANG then they didn't come from the DNC or the Kerry campaign. Since we Bloggers and Freepers are by definition paranoid we should be suspicious that someone out in LiberalLand is trying to put a little distance between Dan and John/John or Dan and Terry.
Forewarned is forarmed.
