My co-worker's dad was a Marine in that campaign and she said he described it as hell on earth.

Sorry to hear about your dad's stroke. That is a great photo of him.

My granddad died in 1994 but gave me all the things he's saved - medals, ribbons, dog tags & uniform.

I wrote down what he felt like talking about, but he also gave me his war diary.
