Laura deals in facts.
Bill O'Reilly deals in BS.
Guess who wins every time?
Your humble correspondent my ass. He's the consummate egotist.
HURRICANE LAURA!
BO says he needs time to do his own independent investigation. The problem is he never gets to it.
He doesn't listen to what others have found out because he's too concerned with protecting his own ego. Often, he's focused on how to ask the next question rather than assimilating the information he's being given (which is also part of Juan Williams' problem).
BO's mind is still at "Inside Edition" where he didn't have to master the details and remember the facts. When he strays into politics, he often loses his way, and ends up trying to compromise so others like Al Franken and Paul Krugman won't attack him the next day.
Meanwhile, this was Laura's finest hour that I've observed -- articulate, persuasive, principled, passionate, beautiful, and right on the analysis.
I wonder if she would like to substitute for O'Reilly during his next vacation? Boy, would Fox's rating ever shoot skyward! Many of us Far-Righters might just drift back.
