So what's "true"? Bush missed his flight physical, went off flight status and his commander was aware of it. That's not new.
If, on the other hand, she says the commander gave Bush a direct order to take the physical that Bush disobeyed, she'd better be able to explain why Bush wasn't court-martialed or at least Article 15'd. In my experience, light Colonels don't cotton to Lieutenants disobeying orders.

I wonder if Dan asked her if she had an IBM Selectric Composer at the TANG????
Next, how did Rather interview her? Did he fly to TX, if so when (in between newscasts?) or did CBS pay for this woman to fly to New York? In old days.... CBS never paid for interviews or expenses...

They (SEEBS) are exploiting HER beliefs that sons of politicos were giving privileged entry into the guard. Her comments about that being accurate for the time may have nothing to do with Killian, but more to do with her opinion at the time. This is evidenced by the fact that Killian's own wife and son deny he had these same feelings toward Bush.

<<"OK,OK, so the memos were faked, but George Bush still hasn't answered the questions of the charges raised in those forgeries!" >>
You hit the nail on the head. What baffles me is the risk they took in presenting the memos as authentic. And the end, so what if Bush missed a physical? Let's pretend for a minute W was totally blitzed the night before and didn't want to take it ........................ SO WHAT!.......that's the part they don't get.

I can't be the only one who rememembers Connie Chung, Newt Gingrich's mom and the phrase "just between you and me."

What do you think is CBS' ultimate aim here - what's their end game in this matter?

...wondering if RATher's gonna try the old connie chung trick..ya know..after a couple of hours of small talk..
lean in close to her and whisper "just between you and me" what do you think of Bush?
..remember thats what she (chung) did..to Gingrich's 68 year old mom...for an interview on guess what? CBS.
CBS used the word *itch for days afterwords..so much glee, in fact their ratings fell through the floor...people didn't think it was fair to take advantage of a senior.
their in trouble again
oh by the way...connie chung was hung out to dry shortly afterwords

Are there any quotes by Dan Rather and CBS about Clinton's non-service and draft-dodging? Somthing along the lines of: "old news" and "who cares anyway?"

No doubt she also said that Hoover took us into the Depression and Roosevelt got us out, right before she said that President Bush was selected not elected.
I know the type and talking to them is a total waste of time.

Does not matter.
They have shown that the secretary DOES know that the memos are fake.
If they try and use what she thinks or feels were Killians views....20 years after Killian's death....with NO EVIDENCE...they are going to continue to gather heat.
We can not let up. We must call all CBS stations.

The Houston Chronicle story was by ROBERT CROWE and JULIE MASON. I don't haven't read Crowe(canceled 2 yrs ago), but I have read Mason, and she is one big time liberal democrat.
That's what I feel, so that must be the fact! Right!

Knox said she decided to report her recollection of the time period to the media after hearing White House press officials say the information in the memos was false.I don't recall the WH making any comments concerning the memos other than to repeat their old refrain --- GWB received an honorable discharge. This woman is as authentic as the forged memos and I wonder if she and Burkett are 'close' friends.

Well.....now we know why the "big announcement" didn't happen this morning, or at noon, or at 3:30, or at 5:00.
HOWEVER, there is that little thing that Dan Rather said in that interview TODAY in the New York Observer....remember, that little thing about him and Mary Mapes "working on this story for five years" and spending years working on the person who had the now-discredited documents in order to get them? So we are now supposed to believe that Rather and Mapes worked this story for FIVE YEARS, but only TODAY managed an interview with the single person most likely to know whether Jerry Killian had a private file and what might have been in that file???
Do they think ANYONE is going to believe this???
