Did you know Blather was in Viet Nam.....

My neighbor was a dog handler in Vietnam. He often comes in to use one of the computers in the lab we have at school, and we get to talk a lot since I'm in charge of the lab.

Last spring he told me this story:

Rather and a cameraman were on a mission with my neighbor and his group, and they took some fire. While being helicoptered out with Rather and the cameraman, my neighbor said that the strangest thing happened.

Somehow, the usually obedient dog managed to get loose and went after the cameraman. The cameraman dropped the camera in the scuffle. A polite Lt. picked it up and handed it back, unfortunately though, with the camera in one hand and the film in the other.

My neighbor said Rather was really pissed about the film, which you can't blame him for, but generally he thought that Rather was a pretty good guy.

I asked him about it again this morning, and he told the story again, almost word for word. I think he's very honest, so it consider it to be true. My neighbor doesn't like Kerry because of the BS he pulled after he returned, but is otherwise neutral and analytical with news events.

FWIW
