Another thing, CBS has no evidence that the "facts" of the forged memos are accurate. All they have is the forged memos, and the "recollection" of two admittedly anti-Bush partisans (one of whom's daughter said her father was lying).

Right, "We believe the content is accurate" is nonsense.
They knew the memo are fake and the content is factually inaccurate.

I guess if you take the meaning of position in a more general way than I did, it doesn't mean anything and isn't technically incorrect. I just was thinking in terms of an officer, a secretary, a coworker, etc. I probably just took that one wrong. This is a very generalized statement. They do not want you to know how many people, what positions they held or hold, were they eyewitnesses to anything, do they have any partisan connections, etc. They are more than likely down to just the secretary and their handful of disgraced "experts" already presented -- plus the Democrat operative who is REALLY behind this thing.

Nobody asked if the documents were "accurate". They answered a question that no one asked. Again, what evidence, what proof, does CBS have that the documents were "accurate"? Old Lady Kravitz's, or whatever her name, statements, in which she contradicted herself from her statement yesterday?

I predicted on another thread that that SeeBS will claim that they transcribed the original documents on a word processor to protect their source. I have no doubt that this is what they will say, but why did it take them a full week to come up with this explanation?

...and Kerry is in freefall, and Bush is rising (319 Electoral votes, and counting). Kerry knows he has to reverse the current trend, but he's completely incapable of doing so.

"The Secretary Marian Knox says she didn't type the documents and they are forgeries but the information is correct in the memos. She contradicts her first public statement, in which she said that she had no personal knowledge of 1Lt. GW Bush.
Also says Killian didn't like Bush.
She contradicts Killian's widow, who last week said her husband liked Bush, and was proud to have him in the ANG"
- If the poor old dear can't keep these simple facts straight, it should be child's play to get an even more damaging contradiction from her if they keep her talking long enough. Should that happen, Dan's last fig leaf would be ripped away.

Both the Dan Rather and the Kerry campaign are hanging their hopes on the ability of some blue-haired old gal to keep her story straight. Delicious!

I dont know. But, they will eventually have to release all information in their possession and then we will know how they verified the authenticity of the memos and the information in the memos.

And we, the great unwashed out here in our pea-stained jammies in floyover land, are not supposed to wonder about what the penalties are for forging an officer's signature on a forged document when the country is at war?
Well, if we do not wonder, and, preferably, take up our pitchforks over this travesty, we might as well stick the pitchforks in ourselves, for the USA as we once knew it, is truly done.

What's interesting is that CBS dug this Knox woman up within the last two days, and she's the big "coroborator." Other than her, CBS has nothing.

Dear Mr. Zola:
We established to our satisfaction that the bordereau forged by Major Esterhazy was essentially accurate in that Captain Dreyfus is a traitor and a sal juif who deserves to be on Devil's Island. We hope this answers your accusation and we remain,
